All units (packs, troops, crews, ships, and posts) are required to renew their affiliation with Scouting each year. Through the process, chartering (sponsoring) organizations, youth member and adult leader information is updated as well as registration fees and Scout’s Life subscriptions are collected/paid.
Units must complete the paperwork for renewing a charter online. Access to the recharter system is automatically granted to the unit committee chair, charter organization representative, and unit leader by logging into the online advancement system. With Online Rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for an individual or the chartered organization.
Youth Protection Training is required for ALL registered adult leaders listed on your recharter. Leaders that need to complete YPT should visit www.My.Scouting.org to complete Youth Protection Training prior to rechartering.
Charter renewal will be accessible to the unit Key 3 and Key 3 delegate only. There will not be an access code for rechartering this year.
***Due to the merger of Massanutten, Valley, and Southern Districts in 2023, units that were previously in the Valley District will need to select a term of 11 months when the option pops up at recharter in Internet Advancement. Units previously in the Southern District will need to select the 10 month term.***
